Y’all (you all) welcome to Fortsville , a historic home in southside Virginia completed in 1792, and occupied by slaveholders and their slaves at the time. Ownership has changed a few times since then, and most recently the house was bought by Frank and Betty Ann Lifsey in 2005. They dedicated it to be used for Christian fellowship and ministry and for the reconciliation of all people to God and to one another through Jesus Christ in accordance with 2 Corinthians 5.20, especially in light of Fortsville’s checkered past. This blog supports the purpose of reconciliation through Christ. Frank and Betty Ann serve as editors of the blog. The site also includes information of interest concerning the house, the community, and the people who have lived and worked around this historical place over the past 200 years.
